Many boxes originally used to ship e-bikes or other bike components have Class 9 Lithium-ion and lithium-metal battery hazmat markings such as UN3091, UN3171, UN3480, UN3481 and UN3556. While these markings may have been required when the items were originally shipped via freight, they are not allowed on parcel shipments booked through Bikeflights.

If a carrier detects a hazmat marking on your package, they will stop your shipment instead of delivering it on time. Then one of the following will occur:

• The carrier may require you to go in-person and pick up your package from a carrier facility.

• The carrier may dispose of your package.

• The carrier may return your package to you.

You won't receive a refund for the affected shipment because carriers do not refund shipping charges for packages displaying incorrect hazmat markings.
