Using an Apple AirTag inside your package can give you more peace of mind, especially for high value and time-critical shipments, by helping you know where your package is during shipping. However, you should expect that there will be large periods of time when your AirTag may not give you updates, such as when no one with an Apple device is nearby.

Unlike location data from the barcodes on or RFID chips in your shipping label, Apple AirTag data isn’t operationally accessible by the carriers, so it doesn’t get used in tracking and routing your package while it’s in transit.

When looking for a lost package, we can never have too many sources of data, so if you do have Apple AirTag location data, please share it with us, and we’ll use it as we work closely with our carrier to help locate your package.
