Before You Book
First, find a UPS Store® to ship to or from. Ask your smartphone for “UPS Stores near me” or near any other location. For example, on your iPhone, ask Siri for “UPS Stores near me”, or on your Android phone, ask Google for “UPS Stores near Tucson, Arizona”.
Some UPS Stores® have size limits on packages they will hold, and they may charge a fee for holding your package for you to pickup, so we recommend you confirm these details prior to booking and shipping.
Booking your shipment
When booking, enter the name and address of the UPS Store® in the Ship To or Ship From field. Start typing “UPS Store” and the city, then select the correct shop from the suggestions offered.
When prompted for more details, make sure the “The UPS Store” is entered in the Company Name field. Carriers require company names for delivery to a commercial address. Shipments sent without a valid company name may receive an address correction charge and may experience a delivery delay.
Entering recipient and shipper information
When shipping to a UPS Store®
In the First Name field, enter: Hold for [RECIPIENT FIRST NAME]
In the Last Name field, enter: [RECIPIENT LAST NAME]
Be sure to use the first and last name of the person who will be picking it up. Remember that person will have to show their ID with a matching name when they pick up.
Example: If the package is ultimately going to Jane Smith, enter:
First Name: Hold for Jane
Last Name: Smith
When shipping from a UPS Store®
Enter the shipper’s First Name and Last Name
Example: If the package is coming from Jane Smith, enter:
First Name: Jane
Last Name: Smith
Contact information
Enter your phone number, not the UPS Store® phone number. This makes it easier for store staff to contact you if needed before your package ships or after it arrives.
After you book
It’s your responsibility to put your label on your box or case. When you drop off your shipment, always ask for an initial scan and receipt to help it start tracking sooner. When your package will actually start moving will depend when and where you dropped it off. Deadlines for daily dropoffs vary by store location, but we generally recommend you drop off by noon to ensure your shipment will get underway the same day.
