Print two copies of your shipping label. Attach one copy to the outside of your box or case and place the other copy inside.
Understanding your label
Each printed label includes two parts:
- The section with the barcode is your shipping label
- The section without the barcode is your Shipment Identifier
The Shipment Identifier includes key shipment details and helps us get your shipment back on track more quickly if your label becomes unreadable or is removed during transit.
If you’re using paper labels instead of thermal labels, cut each page in half to separate the shipping label from the Shipment Identifier.
Attaching your label by container type
The best way to attach your shipping label and Shipment Identifier depends on what you’re shipping in.
If shipping in a cardboard box
- Clean the surface of the box
- Attach the shipping label using a self-adhesive pouch or clear packing tape, or apply a thermal label
- Attach the Shipment Identifier separately
- Place both on the same end of the box
If shipping in a bike travel case
- Attach the shipping label and Shipment Identifier separately using a luggage tag and zip tie
- Luggage tags are available at most UPS partner locations, or you can make your own
Important
Before attaching your shipping label and Shipment Identifier, completely remove or completely cover all previous labels, shipment identifiers, barcodes and hazmat stickers or markings.
